During a productive week, insightful discussions took place in Amsterdam and Enschede. At the Workshop 'Digital Twins for Disaster Early Warning Systems,' organized by UCL and the Netherlands eScience Center, I shared insights on 'Adopting digital twins for digital management of disasters: Challenges and Solutions.' Prof. Tekinerdogan also discussed the 'Separation of Concerns for Digital Twins’. WADDEM (waddem.com) members João Luiz Moreira, Saman Ghaffarian (remote) and Seher Turan attended the workshop as well.
Following this, collaborative research meetings were held from June 12 to 14 with the SEMANTICS, CYBERSECURITY & SERVICES (SCS) chair at the University of Twente. I presented our work on the 'AI-Driven Flood Management System in Smart Cities,' while Seher Turan shared insights on digitalization challenges in multi-hazard management systems. Special thanks to the workshop organizers and the researchers at the University of Twente, including João Luiz Moreira, Luis Ferreira Pires, Marten van Sinderen and Giancarlo Guizzardi, for their warm hospitality.Â
